Fedoras and Top Hats. plus some Boas

Notice to all guys out there:
Fedoras are legendary. So are top hats. Obviously, it would be seen as odd if you just wore a top hat around for kicks. But to some sort of college dance? DO IT. That would be epic.
On to feather boas. Every girl should own a feather boa. Forget flowers that die after a week, I would love to get a feather boa. That would last. Feather boas are just amazing.

Those are just some random thoughts from today's too-long-fedora-hunt. It ended in a fail. But we did discover a fantastic dollar store, so...

Alie and the Sisterz in Suits

On Wednesday, January 27, 2010, Helaman Halls had a talent show. A group of friends and I particiapated. We were the group Alie and the Sisterz in Suits. Alie changed the lyrics to the song "I Need a Hero" and it became "I Need and RM". So Alie sang and 3 other friends and I were back-up dancers. The back-up dancers wore white button-up shirts and ties. It was tons of fun! And guess who won first place?! WE DID! We got two coupons each for a free scoop of Creamery ice cream and Helaman Halls t-shirts. We had a blast and we're all a little bummed that it's over. If you have a Facebook, go to my page to watch the video! It's called "I Need an RM".

Murry

This is late to posting, but whatever.
For Christmas we got a puppy! It took as all day to agree on a name. We finally picked Murry. He's a morkie (a maltese/yorkie).

ASL

This semester I am taking ASL 101. That's right, I'm learning sign language. On day one, I learned how to ask "how are you?" and how to respond. I can count to ten and I know the whole alphabet. I can now ask what school someone goes to, ask if they are a student or teacher and answer those questions. I can ask all the 'wh' questions and say "I know", "I don't know", and "I forget". I can ask if someone is deaf and let them know that I can speak. I really enjoy this class. For the hour and 40 mins that I have it, no one in the room speaks. My teacher is not deaf and he can speak, but we spend the whole class in silence, only communicating through sign language. I love ASL. This is going to be my faorite class this semester.

New Moon

I saw New Moon at midnight! I went with 5 other friends. We stood in line for 3 1/2 hours. It was fun. We had food and took funny pictures. We tried to make up a New Moon rap, but it didn't go too well. The funniest line was soemthing like "we're standing in line, New Moon is almost here! We'll see Jacob...(looong pause)...I hope he doesn't give me beer!" It was so funny!
The actual movie was great! They had more money than they did for Twilight, so the special effects were better. The way they did the wolves was fantastic! There were 2 scenes where I was like "what is going on?!" because it was so different than the book. But overall they did a great job and I loved it! And they even filmed the Italy scenes in Italy! That was good.
I'm team Jacob when it comes to the movies. He's just better than Edward in the movies. It was funny, because when Jacob made his first appearance with his shirt off, all the girls cheered. When Edward took off his shirt everyone went "EW!!!" Taylor Lautner, the guy who plays Jacob, gained 30 lbs of pure muscle for this movie. What did Rob Pattison do? Absolutley nothing. Edward's abs are now drawn on because he is not buff enough. haha! Taylor also does a better acting job, I think. So when it comes to the movies, I root for Jacob.

Random Things

It's awesome to have my laptop up and working again! The hard drive failed so Dell had to send me a new one. There was a lot of stress involved, and it took about a week and a half before I had a laptop again. I am very thankful for working laptops! It's really nice to be able to do homework, check my email, go on Blackboard, and use the internet on my own computer again!
It's been super cold here! It's been snowing, but melting again during the day. The moutains are covered inb snow though, which is really pretty.
With working internet, I am taking full advantage of Pandora. I get all my favorite counrty songs! :)
New Moon comes out this week and I am seeing it at midnight!!! I can't wait! It's going to be an EPIC night!
Desiree (my roommate) is studying intently for a test that she should be taking right now. She's making me be extra quiet. sigh. Oh, well. That just means my ear buds are in so I can listen to my music.
FHE is soon! See ya!
