New Moon

I saw New Moon at midnight! I went with 5 other friends. We stood in line for 3 1/2 hours. It was fun. We had food and took funny pictures. We tried to make up a New Moon rap, but it didn't go too well. The funniest line was soemthing like "we're standing in line, New Moon is almost here! We'll see Jacob...(looong pause)...I hope he doesn't give me beer!" It was so funny!
The actual movie was great! They had more money than they did for Twilight, so the special effects were better. The way they did the wolves was fantastic! There were 2 scenes where I was like "what is going on?!" because it was so different than the book. But overall they did a great job and I loved it! And they even filmed the Italy scenes in Italy! That was good.
I'm team Jacob when it comes to the movies. He's just better than Edward in the movies. It was funny, because when Jacob made his first appearance with his shirt off, all the girls cheered. When Edward took off his shirt everyone went "EW!!!" Taylor Lautner, the guy who plays Jacob, gained 30 lbs of pure muscle for this movie. What did Rob Pattison do? Absolutley nothing. Edward's abs are now drawn on because he is not buff enough. haha! Taylor also does a better acting job, I think. So when it comes to the movies, I root for Jacob.

Random Things

It's awesome to have my laptop up and working again! The hard drive failed so Dell had to send me a new one. There was a lot of stress involved, and it took about a week and a half before I had a laptop again. I am very thankful for working laptops! It's really nice to be able to do homework, check my email, go on Blackboard, and use the internet on my own computer again!
It's been super cold here! It's been snowing, but melting again during the day. The moutains are covered inb snow though, which is really pretty.
With working internet, I am taking full advantage of Pandora. I get all my favorite counrty songs! :)
New Moon comes out this week and I am seeing it at midnight!!! I can't wait! It's going to be an EPIC night!
Desiree (my roommate) is studying intently for a test that she should be taking right now. She's making me be extra quiet. sigh. Oh, well. That just means my ear buds are in so I can listen to my music.
FHE is soon! See ya!

HALLOWEEN

For Halloween I was a ninja! My friend Jordan and I dressed up in all black and went as ninjas. Some people were confused, they asked if we were burglers and thieves. They obviously do not know real ninjas when they encounter them.
We went to Todd and Allison's for their annual doughnut and cider party! Todd and family were charcters from the Wizard of Oz, with Molly as Toto. Allie was a very good gypsy/genie.
It was a pretty exciting Halloween. I didn't go trick or treating, but I got tons of candy from multiple people. Halloween is still one of my favorite holidays.

CTR Ring

So almost a month ago, my CTR ring disappeared. I had gone to work, but I was put in charge of frying, so I put my CTR ring in my pocket. Well, due to all the grease on the ground around the fryers, my jeans (that I love) got caked in grease on the hems. I hurried home and ran down to the laundry room. I hung my jeans with the pockets pointing down on the washer door to spray stain remover all over my jeans. Then I threw them in the washer. About 10 minutes later I freaked cuz my CTR ring was STILL IN THE POCKET!!!!! But they wahsers lock, so I couldn't check. 30 minutes later, I went down and threw my jeans in the dryer. 5 minutes after that, I remembered about my CTR ring. I ran back down the 4 flights of stairs and opened the dryer (they don't lock). My CTR ring was nbot in the dryer or the washer or my pockets. I was sooo upset. I checked the floors in the laundry room, hallways, and my room. No ring. So I put up a bunch of signs around my building telling people I had lost my CTR ring and I gave my name, number, and room. No one found it. I kept getting girls asking if I was the one who lost it, but none of them had seen it. I was pretty much ready to give up. I even planned on buying a new CTR ring, and I almost did yesterday. But this morning, my phone rang. I almost didn't answer because I get so many srong numbers all the time. The girl on the other end said she thought she found my CTR ring. She said she was in the laundry room and that it was on the counter. I sprinted down there. It was my ring!!!!! After almost a month of not having my CTR ring, it is BACK! Woohoo! So that is the exciting CTR ring story. The End.

October in Provo, Utah

I already know that this is going to be a horrible winter. It's already too cold here in Provo for me and it's only OCTOBER!!!!!!! sigh.
Conference was good. I went to the Saturday morning session, and then watched the afternoon session in the Joseph Smith builidng on Temple Square. I had lunch in the Nauvoo Cafe, which was REALLY yummy! I had a grilled cheese with bacon and tomatoe. Today I watched conference in my building.
I got a letter the other day. I love getting mail!!! In case you want to send me some: 3219 Hinckley Hall Provo, UT 84604 :)

Sister Elaine S. Dalton

On Sunday, September 13, 2009, Sister Elaine S. Dalton came to BYU. She gave a fantastic talk about Virtue. I took four pages of notes! Desiree, some friends, and I went super early, and got to sit on the floor. Afterwards, the security blocked off the stairs so that no one could come down. But those of us on the floor were lucky. WE GOT TO MEET SISTER DALTON!!!! My group got our picture taken with her! She is such an amazing lady; she is so sweet and sincerly cares about all of us. She told our group of girls that we sparkle! I love Sister Dalton so much! It was such an amazing expirence!

Eagle Crest

It has been way too long since I last posted. Quick Eagle Crest re-cap:
It was hot! We swam and rode tandem bicycles. We went to Smith Rock - its HUGE! We saw some rock climbers. Michael climbs there. We went to a museum and saw an otter, owls, and a bald eagle. And TONS of chipmunks and ground squirrels. (I learned chipmunks have facial stripes, ground squirrels don't.) We had ice cream and milkshakes at Sno Cap Drive-in in Sisters. They were delicious! We played some tennis. We watched Psych and The Karate Kid. There was a bunny in our backyard and Tanner fed it lettuce. We went to the lava tube caves. We could see our breath inside because it was so cold! WE drove up a big volcanoe and looked at mountains and a crater thing. "We were down there and we looked up here. Now we're up here and we look down there. What's the point?" (Arthur) It was a pretty fun trip overall.

Allie's Birthday

Allie's birthday was on a Saturday. I spent the night on Friday. We watched Save the Last Dance. Then on Saturday we went to Kneaders with the Grandparents and had french toast for breakfast. Then we went to Thanksgiving Point with Todd and family and Bruce and family (and still the Grandparents). We went thorugh the farm and had cake. Then we went to Brick Oven for dinner and Allie opened her presents. I gave her season 1 of The Office. That night she had a party for her frineds and I went for a bit. It was a fun weekend.

nutella

I have known about Nutella for a while now. (Tanner likes to put it on bread and whatnot.) But, here at BYU, my friends were putting it on crackers and lots of different kinds of bread. So I tried it. Not on bread, not on crackers, but just on my finger. It is good!!! But why mess up the delicious taste of hazelnut chocolateness with bread or crackers?? So now I have a jar of Nutella in my room, with a spoon right next to it. Everyday, I eat a few scoops when I get home from class. Can you say YUM?!

sunday

On Sunday, July 26, I taught Relief Society with my friend Chelsea. We taught our lesson based off President Monson's talk: Sugar Beets and the Worth of a Soul. He talked about haow we are all important to our Heavenly Father. We need to help the "Lost Sheep" return to the fold. We told the parable of the Lost Sheep, Lost Coin, and Prodigal Son. People participated and we were told by many women that we did a good job. I enjoy teaching, so I had fun with the lesson.

Kenny Chesney and Maria

On Thursday, July 23, I went to the Kenny Chesney concert in Salt Lake with Maria Forbes. We went for her birthday. Before the concert, we had ice cream cake with her family. The concert was so fun! Kenny sang Down the Road, which is one of my favorites. It was really fun to see Maria. I had a blast!

Salt Lake City

On Saturday I wene to Salt Lake City with 2 friends. We rode the bus and tracks. First, we got the times wrong for the buses and started our adventure a whole hour late. Then, we ended up on the wrong bus and had to switch. More delays. Finally, we got to Salt Lake. We went through the church History Museum and took pictures by the "I am a child of God" banner and the Angel Moroni. We had lunch at Gateway Mall. Then we went to the Catholic catherdral in the city. I lit a candle for Mary. We then went to Temple Square. We went into both visitor's centers and the Tabernacle. We saw the Christus and took pictures around the temple. It was really hot - over 100 degrees! The fountains looked so inviting... Then we rode the tracks and bus to get home. Both of my friends fell asleep. It was a very fun day!

Harry Potter

I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at midnight last night!! I really liked it! I was bummed tha they took out the big fight scene. And Neville showed up ONCE! Sad story. I love Luna Lovegood. Not enough of Hagrid. I thought Ginny was a little too tall. When the Burrow was burning...I almost cried. But they did a good job. The scenery was beautiful. The cave scene was well done. It wasn't my favorite of the Harry Potters, but it was one of the better ones. Woohoo to Harry Potter!!

Classes and things

I officially hate American Heritage.
English 150 is pretty good. I got 95/100 on my Opinion Editorial. My first paper in college! Its pretty exciting!
On the 4th of July Allie and I went to see the hot air balloons with Uncle Ed and Erica. Then we had a really good boy scout breakfast and watched the parade with Aunt Dianne and Erica. It was fun, but hot! That night I watched Stadium of Fire fireworks. They're good!
I love hall parties! We've had two. They are very unofficial. It starts with 2 or 3girls chatting in the hall and more just keep coming. People bring food and we just hang out. so fun!
Overall, I'm enjoying BYU.

Calling

I now have a calling. I am the assistant to the Ward Mission Leader. I am also the "mom" for my FHE group. I am REALLY excited! It will be fun! Woohoo!

49 words

So for my English 150 class we had to write a story to introduce ourselves to the class. It had to be exactly 49 words. It was tricky. Here's mine:

I am only five feet tall and I still buy my pants at Gap Kids. But I took a weight training class in high school and I was pretty good at it. By the end of the semester I broke the bench and squat records for my weight class.

Grad party

Graduation was gradutation. They're all pretty much the same. Done.

Our grad party was tons of fun! We had a wetern theme and there were casino games and a jumping house and swimming and a rock climbing wall and tons of food. And you could get "hitched" for the night! I married my friend Joe. We got little plastin rings and a fake marriage certificate! Tabea got the funniest pictures of it! It was so funny! Tabea married Robbie = weird and Amanada married Will Downey! haha! sooo much fun! And so exhausting! I got home around 5 am! SNORE.

Starlight Parade

On Saturday it was Portland's Starlight Parade. I got to march in it with the TuHS marching band. Last parade I will ever play my trumpet and march in. It wasn't too bad, but it was HOT! Like, 80 degrees! And we wear wool uniforms... Anyway, I was told we looked and wounded good. Emily saw me on TV. I hear my family and friends cheering. It was pretty good. Halfway through the parade though, my stomach started to hurt badly enought that I couldn't play. I held my trumpet up and just marched. But that was after the judges and TV cameras so it was ok.
The last time I WATCHED the Starlight parade was a long time ago. I went with uncle Michael. I don't remember much, except that on the way home I tried really really hard not to fall asleep. I failed. haha!

1 more day of high school!

Only in Oregon

This morning, I woke up around 8:00. It was cloudy. Normal for Oregon.
Around 10 it cleared up and became sunny. Also normal.
Around 1:30 it clouded back over and started raining. Very normal.
But then, at about 3, the wind went whooshing through our yard, knocking branches down. It started pouring and then it turned to hail. There were lighting flashes and loud thunder. A tree up the street fell down. Kinda scary.
And then a half hour later, it's completely cleared up and sunny with a bit of wind.
This only can happen in Oregon.

BYU update

Summer term classes start on June 22nd. Orientation is on June 19 - 20th. So pretty much I'll be driving to Utah on my birthday. Maybe. Probably what will happen. I'm kinda annoyed to not have very long between high school graduation and college, but I'm also sick of people here. I sometimes wish I could leave NOW. I keep feeling like the friends I need now, I'll meet in a few months at BYU. sigh. I feel misplaced.
And, I will finish a whole semester of college before any of my senior friends even start. WEIRD.

Decisions

I have made a decision about college: I am going to BYU. I will start at the end of June for summer term. I graduate high school on June 3rd, so I'll have about 2 1/2 weeks of nothing and then I head off to college. Crazy!

6 days till Maui!

BIG. Life-changing BIG.

I was accepted to Brigham Young University! Woohoo!
For summer term. That was not part of the plan. Now I have to make decisions. Too many of them. Ew.
I'm not a fan of big choices.

Dogs

Today I went with Emily Gregson to the Reynold's farm. The run dog kennels and a doggie day care. Emily and I played with the dogs for about 4 hours. It was so fun! There were a lot of dogs: Cody, Bo, Gracie, Bailey, Bailey, Annie, Lilly, Kermit, Jackson, Google and Mac. I think I got them all. Plus part of the time the Reynold's dog, Preston, was with us, and pat of the time Emily's dog, Mazie, was there. It was way fun! I love all those dogs! Bo was "in charge", Cody was big and such sweetheart, Gracie like to get in your face, Google and Lilly like to run and egg everyone on, the Bailey's were so sweet, Annie was a sweetheart, Mac was delightful, Jackson was funny, and Kermit...well...he's learning to cooperate.
I loved all those dogs! And normally I'm scared of big dogs that get in my face, but today I wasn't! I stayed calm the whole time. It was so awesome!
20 days till Maui!

WAITING...and SICK of it!!

So.
BYU said we would know Feb. 27 about our acceptance. Well, then they changed it to Feb. 9th a.k.a. TODAY! But, they said it would come anywhere between today and Feb. 27th. So far, I know nothing. grr. And with my luck, I'll know at the very end of the month.
Cross you fingers for me!

Hot Lunch

I just read a really good book. It was called Hot Lunch by Alex Bradley. It was one of those books that you pick up in the library and think, Oh this could be ok. Looks funnyish. Not great, but whatever... But no, it went way above my low expectations. It made me laugh out loud. It had some awesome quotes. Quotes that I actually copied down. I totally recommend this book. It even had a few recipies, and I used the macaroni and cheese one for dinner last night. It was so good!! Even mom thought so, and she doesn't like cheese! Pretty much I was pleasently surprised by this book.
"Isn't it weird how sometimes you don't know how much you feel about something until it's taken away from you?"

Delectible is a fantastic word. Definitly going on my wall. It's getting full.
45 days till Maui!! I can't wait! Its sunny here, but super cold. I can't wait for sun and hotness! Palm trees, sand, warm water, fun cousins, flip flops...Ahhh!
Just 45 more days...

Battlefeild

Going on forever.
Scarcely speaking.
Not noticing.
Leaving too many wounded,
too many slaughtered.
Crying constantly.
Only memories now.
Mostly misunderstandings.
Ending in silence.
Is it over?
Forever?

Who?

Your best friend is the one who's supposed to listen to all your problems. She's always supposed to be there. You're supposed to be able to tell her anything. You're supposed to be able to trust her 100%. She should be able to trust you 100%. You should have no secrets from each other.
So who are you supposed to talk to when your best friend is the problem?

Waiting to hear from BYU...

It snowed again. Not a lot, but it was pretty!
I watched Aquamarine. Very cheesy, but cute.
Allie left for Utah. Good luck, Allie!!
63 days till Allie, Mom, Desiree, Melia, Grandma, Grandpa and I leave for Maui!!!!!
