There's no time to waste...There's so much to celebrate!

Christmas is in 2 days, people!! 2! It seems like it has come way too fast this year. But we will have a white Christmas, which is cool. And yesterday I realized that all over the world missionaries will be calling home. How cool is that? Mass home-calling! I'm really loving the snow! I've keep going sledding with friends. But walking through the foot of snow isn't so much fun.
Yesterday at Austin's house I found the piano music to the song Believe from The Polar Express. I love that song! It's so good! Josh Groban sings it, which makes it amazing right there. The title for this post is a quote from the song. So in case I don't get to blog again before Christmas, I want to remind you all that Christmas is a time for giving, sharing, and caring. Remember The Polar Express. If you haven't read the book, you need to. And watch the cartoon Grinch. It's so much better! Don't get wrapped up in your presents and "me, me, me". Remember to tell your family you love them and to give your friends a hug.
Merry Christmas!

roller coasters should be rides not weeks

My week has been crazy! We had snow all week! Snow and ice! No school all week!! And Christmas is coming which makes things more exciting. I've had people be mean to me, and then nice. I've laughed, and I've cried. But today is good. Why? Because Allie will be home in 15ish minutes!! I will see my favorite big sis! WOOHOO!!!

Days till allie gets home: ZERO!!!!
Days till Christmas: 6

SNOW!!!!! Lots of it!!

It definitely snowed all day on Sunday. Yesterday we had no school. And no school again today. We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow. And the temp isn't suppose to get above freezing this week, so the snow/ice will not melt! We might not have school all week! That would mean a three week Christmas break! And you might be thinking, "Well, yeah that's fun now, but it's not when you have to make it up in June..." But, I am a Senior. Graduation is on June 3rd, NO MATTER WHAT! So I won't have to make it up!! Woohoo!!! C'mon snow!!

3 days till Allie gets home!! (Hopefully, with all the snow/ice, her plane will get in no problem. I'm slightly concerned. But I haven't heard bad news from the Portland airport, so it should be ok.)
9 days till Christmas! (Maybe it will be white!!)

SNOW

GAH!!! It snowed! And stuck! It's been snowing all day! We have almost 3 inches! Crazy! All you Utah people are probably thinking, "Oh who cares?" But this is a BIG DEAL to us Oregonians. And yes, we are big enough pansies that some wards cancelled church (not mine), and the Stake Chrsitmas Program is postponed to next week. But snow is AWESOME! School will probably be canelled tomorrow. It's not going to melt, becaused it won't get colder over night, so probably no school! Woohoo!!

5 days till Allie gets home!
11 days till Christmas!

Senior Seminar is a ridiculous class. Its utterly preposterous!!! I have to do so many dumb things. And no one cares!!! Who's going to see my portfolio?! Future employers? Future Professors? NO! No one will ever look at it!! EVER! What a waste of time! Time I will never get back! GAH!!!!!!!!!

my thoughts on Monday

I did math homework with Eric. That's pretty fun actually. And I get it when he explains it. He's an amazing friend!
I went to trumpet lessons. We played Christmas songs. It was fun! Mr. Comely said I had good tone. Woohoo!
I've been listening to Taylor Swift all day. Love her!
Emily didn't answer her phone. :(
"Boys are dumb. Throw rocks at them."
I got my hair cut. Well, it was supposed to be a trim, but she cut it shorter than I expected. I love it, though, so no biggie.
Our band concert is on Wednesday. It should go pretty well.
11 days till allie gets home!!!!!!!!!
17 days till Christmas!

snow

I was really hoping for snow last night. It has been clear the last few days and really cold. Then some clouds moved in yestewrday evening. I was hoping it would snow and stick because the ground was cold enough. But, nooooo. It just rained. And now its overcast, so all the heat is trapped so we won't get snow for a while at least, if at all. Dumb weather!

12 days till Allie gets home!
18 days till Christmas!

New lyrics

"I am a Princess, this could be a fairy tale..."
The last verse's chorus is better. More accurate. But the white horse boy can still catch me.
Cuz small towns have happy endings too.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving at my grandparent's house is hectic. We had over 20 people. Lots of loud kids, one crabby great-grandma, a bunch of stressed adults, and 3 annoyed teenagers (who didn't get to sit at the "adult table". Babysitting again!).
I saw Madagascar 2. It was good. Very funny! "Now where were we?" "I'm huge."
We went to Leavenworth. Its a very cool little town in Washington that is designed like a German town. It was fun! Melia bought a very cute hat.
I talked to Allie!! Only 18 days till she comes home!
We put up Christmas decorations today. 24 days!

Tuesday

Grrr! Don't you hate it when you are looking forward to something, and then you don't get to do it?! It pretty much ruins my day. And yes, that happened to me. Now I'm crabby and frustrated. "I'm so...so..angry! Ha! I'm angry!" (Enchanted quote. Really good movie.) I miss Allie, too. 24 days till she gets home! We're leaving for Washington tomorrow to visit Grandparents and cousins and such for Thanksgiving. Very exciting!
Happy Thanksgiving, to all!

Eric

Eric. He's a complete dork, but you gotta love him. He's sitting right next to me. We watched Psych (woohoo!). "It was awesome!" (Eric) Now we're discussing Mark and swim teamness.... We like the song "Girl Next Door" and Taylor Swift. He thinks she's pretty. (Watch out, Bibeth, you've got competition!) That's preposterous! Tehe! "Eric is having fun at Megan's house. MARK NEEDS TO CALL!!!! AHHHH!!! Yo necisito ping-pong. Megan just completely attacked me! Ahh! I is tooooo ticklish for me good! Adios!" (Eric)

Finally made Eric's brownies...he typed my story...thanks, Eric! Jess and I were creative with them..watch out! I don't fit in anymore... 4 days until Thanksgiving = Desiree/Melia/Megan up late talking. Sunny outside, but only 42 degrees. Lindsey made good cookies. Missing people... 26 days until Allie gets home! 32 days until Christmas! I wish we weren't done singing. Pride and Prejudice: "Don't judge me, Lizzy. Don't you dare judge me." I have awesome friends. I love the LMFs!!

A True Twilighter

The Twilight movie was amazing! I definitly loved it! They did a very good job of following the book. They did an amazing job of making the vampires super strong and fast. Alice was my favorite. She was so perfect! I also thought Jacob, Charlie, Mike, Billy, Jasper, Esme and Carlisle were done very well. Rosalie looked just right. Victoria and James have their characters down. As for Bella and Edward, they did a fantastic acting job. I really liked it. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb."
"What a stupid lamb."

Twilight

I'd just like to say: I was a Twilight fan before it got big. So I am not a fad follower, but a true Twilighter.
I am seeing the movie in about an hour! At 12:20! I am going to be so tired for school tomorrow! But it will be worth it.
"You are exactly my brand of heroin."

Allie, I miss you!
30 days!

Think

How do you think? Do you think in sentences, as if you're talking to someone? Or do you think in thought "burts"? Like, "food, burrito, homeowrk due tomorrow". Isn't it weird? Now you're probably thinking about how you think. Weird, huh? I think in sentences. Full-out sentences. But, seriously, I want to know how you think. Post a comment, please!

my friday to today

Yesterday, I had a blast! I went to Sonic (so good!) with Emily, Elise and Mazie. Then there was the football game vs. McNary. We won 41 to 7! Woohoo! Then I went to Emily's and we watched the 3rd Lord of the Rings. I have finally seen them all! They're pretty good. I didn't like that Frodo left at the end, though. So we stayed up till 2:30 watching the movie, and then Eric had to call at 9:00 am, and my phone ringing woke me up, so I'm oober tired. (Yawn!) Haha. So, yesterday was tons of fun! And I just finished writing my "why I want to go to BYU" essay. Yay! so, this weekend has been good so far. :)

Oregon Coast

Oregon Coast + November = RAIN/WIND.
But I had fun anyway! We went to the Yakwina (sp??) Lighthouse. It's Oregon's tallest. It was really cool. I saw tons of seagulls (What do you call a bird that flies over the bay? A BAYgull! HAHAHA!!) and we saw seals. Way cool. We went to an aquarium and saw the octopus get fed. Oober cool (Woot to Amanda!). And we played on the windy beach for about an hour. I flew my - er, Robbie's - $1.00 Bratz kite. Super fun. And we played frisbee and stuff. We went swimming at the hotel pool. And watched Princess Bride. Best movie EVER! Anybody want a peanut? Tehe!
Woohoo to Oregon!

Soccer

Soccer is over. Bummer. We were undefeated!! We tied 3 times, and won every other game! We never lost! Woohoo! But, we played 2 games vs. our parents/siblings. We lost both. I find it hilarious that we can beat other teams that have been playing all season, but not our inexperienced parentals. Haha! I had a ton of fun! We came in second place during the Willamatte Cup! I'm just bummed that I'm a senior and can't play rec socceer again next year. Tonight is our team party. We're going bowling. Woot!
I love Pom-Pom!!

Fancy Girls

Yesterday I went to Fred Meyer with Austin, Ashley, and Eric. Part of the time we were looking at all the jewelry in Fred Meyer Jeweler's. Why do girls love fancy jewelry so much? I saw a million necklaces that I loved. And a bajillion rings that were gorgeous! I don't get why we love this stuff so much... Is it the sparkle? The amount it cost? Or because of what it represents: commitment, love, security...? I don't know. All I know is I love all the fancyness. And not just jewelry, but fancy dresses too. I love looking at Prom dresses! Why do we love fancy things so much?

My Terrible Week

I have had a TERRIBLE WEEK!! I have had a bad day every single day this week! I've been stressed about my government essay and applying for college. My stomache hurt today. Ben squashed my toe yesterday during soccer. The weather is crummy. Things just seem to go wrong! I finally figured out why that may be: I'm getting my Patriarchal Blessing on Sunday. Satan's probably trying to get me to cancel. I also had a bad week leading up to my Bishop interview for my Blessing. Satan is totally working against me! Just like with missionaries! Well, GET THEE HENCE, SATAN! Cause I'm not quitting!

As of Oct. 30th: 56 days till Christmas!

Today (random)

Today. I love to write. Eric's sink was broken, the water just went sploosh! into the cabinets = hilarious! I like carving pumpkins, but not "taking out the guts". I need to watch The Emperors Club. I need to write an essay for Government (very boring class). I love fall because of the crunchy leaves and the trees are gorgeous! Go TuHS! I made a video with Amanda and Eric for Amanda's media arts project = tons of fun and totally hilarious! Don't think I don't think about it. Tons of duct tape. Boys are crazily ridiculous. I don't like FST. I love orange Tootsie Pops! Get me a popsicle! I'm behind on The Office. Tired. They don't act like they're going out. How annoying! Makaea and Tydan. Between my shoulder blades is ticklish. I have Mulit-cul! Penterosis. Ibach park. It was sunny. Need a book to read. Should I? Sounds good. Sad story. $20. Subway for lunch = yum! False! I love country! Wish I could quit. Crazy. Laughing almost too much. Talk to Eric for forever. Miss Allie. Need to work on other stuff. Thought about BTBY. Miss Jenny. Can't wait for Thanksgiving! 58ish days till Christmas. E-mail me! Soccer game. Pep band. Understand. Screaming! Wish I could go to the Carrie Underwood concert. Sick of school. Senior-itis. Beauty and the Beast. Sonic. Call! Need to stop this random post...

guys? who needs 'em?

Hey all you girls out there! News flash: Guys are ridiculous! Don't worry about them. Hang out with all your awesome girl friends instead! Go shopping, watch chick flicks, blast music and dance!
One time, I went to Target with my best girl friend, and we searched the make up aisles for the cheapest product. Turned out it was lip gloss. We both bought some. And another time, we went to Fred Meyer, and just had a blast with all the crazy colors of nail polish!
I've gone to stores with my girl friends and we tried on all the funky sunglasses and took funny pictures! It was so fun!
We've gone to Best Buy and tried all the demo games.
Go try on Prom dresses at any store. Take tons of pictures. Its so much fun!
Girl time is so great! Who needs guys? Not me!

Senior Pics

So, I got my senior pictures done yesterday. It was tons of fun!! We went to this place with rocks, and water, and wheat... It was really pretty. She kept telling me to make a straight face. I can't!! I would start laughing instead! My cheeks really hurt by the time we were done. haha!

Bucket List

A "Bucket List" is your list of things you want to do before you die. Here's mine:

  • Ride on the back of a motorcycle (preferably before I'm 35)
  • Ride in a hot air balloon
  • Go to Venice, Italy
  • Visit Forks, Washington
  • Meet Stephanie Meyer
  • Publish a novel (that is going to happen! hopefully soon!)

my book

I have finished the first draft of my future best-seller! And I finally came up with a title! But thats staying a secret. For those of you who don't know anything about my book, here's a blurb:
Sometimes, when life gives you lemons, you get a prince.
I can't wait to finish it! Cross your fingers that it gets published!

beets, bears, battlestar galactica

The Office starts next week! I am so excited! I really like it, mostly because my sister and I always watch the episodes together. I've never actually watched it on TV. We always watched on her laptop. She has the seasons on CD, so I actually watched all 4 seasons over the summer. Now the 5th season is starting! I'm just bummed, because she is in Jerusalem, so we can't watch together. Anyway, it stats on the 25th, and I highly recommend it!

Identity theft is not a joke, Jim! Millions of families suffer each year! (season 4)

rocketships and little kids

Today I won a giant yellow rocketship. I flew all over outerspace with Darren (in his red rocketship), Cory (in his black rocketship), and Emi (in her pink rocketship). We took all our friends for rides. The best part was visiting the Alien Zoo in outerspace. If you've never been, you need to go. I saw the Tri-Alien, the Flying Alien (he looks like a bat), the Smiley Alien, the Cyclops Alien, the Little Blue Alien, and the Slithering Alien With Two Heads. Plus many, many more amazing aliens! I even took some pictures! It was an amazing trip; you all should take a trip to outerspace sometime!

Ouch

On Friday I hurt my knee. I'm playing co-ed rec soccer (for the first time in like a million years) and of course I have to get injured. I collied with another player while playing defense, and my knee was twisted a little. It's been slightly swollen, but the doctor checked it out and decided I only bruised the bone. I can't play soccer for a week, and I'm supposed to take it easy.
Thanks, Eric and Austin, for the help home after the football game! I really appreciate it!

Phantom of the Opera

I got to see Phantom of the Opera last week. It was amazing!! I had never seen it before, not even the movie. The music is awesome, the costumes are fantastic, and the whole thing is absolutely unbelievable! Oh man!! It was great! It's now my favorite Broadway musical. I've also seen Beauty and the Beast (actually on Broadway!), and The Lion King. Both of those are amazing, too! Everyone should see Phantom! It was terrific!

Stephenie Meyer

I just finished one of the best book series EVER! The Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer are amazing! Her writing has improved throughout the series. The final book, Breaking Dawn, was definitely the darkest and had the fastest pace. I think it was her best, though. Throughout the series, she puts in clues that show up in the end. The Twilight series is one you can reread and find new things each time. Stephenie Meyer is now my favorite author. I will reread all her books over and over.

Girls Camp

I got home from Girls Camp yesterday. It was so much fun! I was a YCL - a Youth Camp Leader. I was over the third years; the girls who will be Freshman. I taught them how to build emergency shelters and how to start a fire without matches. We went on a hike to a river; it was really pretty. All week we sang goofy songs and acted like dorks! I love Girls Camp! It was my last year, which was sad. I'll miss going every year.
To my girls: I had a blast with you! Stay strong and always remember you are a Princess! E-mail me all the time! I love you!

Hansen Family Reunion

I got back home on Tuesday from my Hansen Family Reunion. It was in Rexburg, Idaho, at a ranch called Westover Ranch. We slept in tents or trailers, but there was a main building with bathrooms, a kitchen, and a main room. We had 140 people attend, we were only missing 13. It's everyone in the Hansen family from my Great-Grandma and down. She turned 90 earlier this year! Anyway, it was a lot of fun! Here's some funny/fun memories:
Klydie - she's 2 and so cute! I first met her because she wanted some chips, but they were too high for her to reach. So I gave her some chips and I became her best friend! She's adorable!
Hatch - He's also 2 and really cute! He is allergic to lots of things, though. He wore t-shirts that said things like "stop - don't feed me!" and "I have food allergies!" He can even tell you what he's allergic to. He says, "Eggies and peanuts!"
Capture the Flag - a group of us, mostly 10 and older, played Capture the Flag one night. It was cold, and the grass was wet, but it was kinda fun. My team lost, mostly cuz I was busy looking for my chap stick. It was dark and I couldn't find it! The next night they went to the sand dunes to play, but I didn't go. I read Twilight instead. They didn't get back until 3 am!
Football - A group of us played a game called football. We played from 11 to 2 on the last night. We were so tired! It got really funny! If you mess up, you get a punishment. Russel had to talk like a cowboy and pretend he was riding a horse every time he talked. Alex had to talk in "whale" like Dory. Eddie had to waddle like a penguin. I had to say everything twice. It was a lot of fun! Plus, we had to call Desiree the "Head Hooligan of the Holy Hansen Household." We were all so tired; people kept messing up her name, which gives you a punishment. We started saying things like, "Head Honcho Hooligan of the Hood" It was hilarious!
So I had a lot of fun! There's more stories, but they'd be better in person.

The Funny Flight Attendant

So, on my flight home from Salt Lake, the flight attendant was hilarious!
"This may surprise you: We do have a smoking section on this flight. (I went Whaaat?) It is located on the wings. You will truly experience Gone With The Wind. Smoking in the cabin is not allowed. Smoking in the bathrooms is not allowed. Tampering with smoke detectors will give you a $2,000 fine. And, frankly, if you could spend that much, you wouldn't be flying Southwest."
"The pressure in the cabin is not scheduled to change today. If it was, I wouldn't have come to work. If it does, though, stop panicking as soon as the oxygen masks drop down. Help yourself first, then your child. If you have more than one child, help the one with the most potential first, then work your way down from there."
"If this flight becomes a cruise, inflate the life vest and swim like you've never swam before. We'll be right behind you with the beer and peanuts. When we reach land, we'll have a luau."
When the flight attendants come down the rows to check the overhead compartments he said, "And now Drew and Sheri will come by to show off their armpits."
He was pretty funny! I was laughing so hard!

Be The Best You Camp

I got home yesterday from the best camp I have ever been to! It's called "Be The Best You" Camp for Girls. It was so much fun! We did a service project almost every day. We had a circus for kids from the Boys and Girls Club, we had a Princess Party for disabled women, we read books to the same kids from the Boys and Girls Club, and we visited Care Centers. We had amazing speakers, people like John Bytheway and Brad Wilcox. We had an American Idol night, we had an amazing testimony meeting, and we had a banquet the last night. Kenneth Cope came and gave us a concert. It was fantastic! I learned so much and had so much fun. It was the best!

Goin' Green

Basically, with all the trash build up and pollution, I'm kinda "going green". I'm now really big on recycling, and turning off lights if your not in the room. Seriously, Polar Bears are dying because of global warming, which is caused by pollution. If we carpool more, it will be a big help. Or walk. People in my neighborhood should just walk to and from school. It's like a 10 to 15 minute walk!
And water use. Turn off the water when you brush your teeth. It will help you, because the water bill will be less. Turn off lights whne you leave the room; your electricity bill will go down. Carpool, and save money on gas. Its way too expensive anyway!
If everyone just recycled, walked, and turned stuff off more, Polar Bears wouldn't die so much! Did you know because of climate changes, Polar Bear's and Grizzly Bear's habitats are now colliding? They've actually been living in the same areas lately. People in Canada even found a hybrid bear- half Polar Bear and half Grizzly! That's never happened before. Yeah, it's kinda cool, but that means we've really done something to the earth- and not a good thing. Those bears are supposed to live apart from eachother.
So, please remember to recycle and turn stuff off. And walk; it's good for the earth and you!

Me, Megan

I am lots of diffrent things. I am a Mormon. I am a Band Geek. I am a friend. I am a sister, cousin, daughter, niece, and granddaughter. I am a babysitter. I am a Rubber Duckie. I am a Buttercup Beauty. I am a Senior. I am a Princess.
I am often described as short (true), loud (sometimes, ok, most of the time), funny (I try), a good friend (thanks), a dork (usually true), cute (really?), and sometimes weird (only compared to some people).

Pet Peeves

I have a couple of Pet Peeves. Here we go:
#1- "itch". The word "itch" is a noun, not a verb! You don't "itch" and itch, you scratch it! It drives me crazy to hear someone say "I have an itch." and then someone else saying "well, then itch it." Say SCRATCH it!
#2- When people put empty bottles or containers into the fridge. Throw them away!
#3- When people throw away things that can be recycled. C'mon, people! Recycle! Help the earth!
#4- When the person you are talking to on the phone talks to someone else on their end. It's ok if they say "just a second" or something, but just to start talking to someone else is annoying!
